This project is inspired by the dedicated work of Local Solutions to End Poverty, a grassroots coalition of Duluthians concerned about effects of systemic poverty in our community. In 2018, Local Solutions to End Poverty began an effort to collect personal testimonies from fellow Duluthians who have or are currently experiencing barriers to basic needs in the northland. This effort was entitled So Much More, based interviews a fellow LSEP organizer, Tone, conducted last year. The resounding sentiment from those interviews was that there is so much more to us than appearances.
Zeitgeist is a nonprofit arts and community development organization committed to growing and sustaining a community that is inclusive, diverse, and equitable; artistic and vibrant; environmentally conscious; and a place where every individual can thrive. They have generously provided heating equipment for this event, making projection art on a cold winter's night more tolerable. Zeitgeist also assisted with promotion.
Corey Lehman Enterprises created the video documentation of So Much More: from me to you. A special thanks is owed to Corey and Sean.
